February Fun

The weekend family "mission trip" to Oaxaca was fun.  While it was a bit of work getting suitcases together, etc., it was definitely worth it.  I wanted the kids to have the experience of getting out of their context and being part of our work. I did have my doubts of  about the 6+ hour car ride - especially the two hours of mountain curves.   That part was really the only down side, and despite some discomfort for Kai, Liam and Xau, we made it through :)  Kids' outreach in neighboring village Twist Kids' Club Liam's favorite part of the trip was his "new room" or "hotel" as he called the bunk bed he and Kai shared.  Another one of their highlights was getting to ride in the back of the pick-up truck to get kids from the neighborhood for Twist on Saturday. P astor Braulio and his prayer-warrrior mother. Liam was captivated listening to her speak Mazateco, the regional dialect (I think the only Spanish word she ever said was "eat.")...
