The first days of the month were filled with preparations for the youngsters from San Luis. Missionary Daniel Huegel formed the EqT (initials for: Students that Transform) organization as a missions training “scout”-type program for 13-18 year-olds. The group has activities every Saturday including training, trips, competitions, Bible-study and Bible story-telling strategies. At 18 they’ll get to go on a six-month mission trip to another country and there after decide how they want to be involved: going, giving or praying… The 9-17th was a go-go-go week. From early morning breakfasts to trips around the city to evenings of sharing and dinner and bed! I got to stay home with the kiddos a couple of days but it was definitely a whirlwind. It was a mix trip of missions and tourism, tourism being the main part - kind of like what we’d think of as a D.C. trip since many of the students have never traveled to the capital.
