The first days of the month were filled with preparations for the youngsters from San Luis. Missionary Daniel Huegel formed the EqT (initials for: Students that Transform) organization as a missions training “scout”-type program for 13-18 year-olds.
The group has activities every Saturday including training, trips, competitions, Bible-study and Bible story-telling strategies. At 18 they’ll get to go on a six-month mission trip to another country and there after decide how they want to be involved: going, giving or praying…The 9-17th was a go-go-go week. From early morning breakfasts to trips around the city to evenings of sharing and dinner and bed! I got to stay home with the kiddos a couple of days but it was definitely a whirlwind. It was a mix trip of missions and tourism, tourism being the main part - kind of like what we’d think of as a D.C. trip since many of the students have never traveled to the capital.
I was super happy to get to catch up with dear friend Paulina who volunteers with the students week-to-week.
So inspiring to see this group of young ones taking the Word of God and His love out. Especially exciting to see Mexicans activated towards mission.
We did dye some eggs and hunt some eggs for Easter :) And are now enjoying a sweet visit in Ohio (Xaume is holding down the fort in Mexico. We miss him, but hope to come in December all together).Love and hugs to all! Thank you for your fervent prayers. Please continue to pray with us as we seek next steps to pursue planting a mission in a specific part of the city.
