Please pray with us as we embark on a new endeavor! For years we've prayed about initiating a work in Ecatepec - one of the most crime-ridden and infamous areas of the city. Due to the poverty and difficulties, it is RIPE for harvest. After several scouting visits to Tulpetlac (a very old area which still maintains a towny air where Jaime, Xau's dad is from) , we've landed on a property right by a public park. It doesn't look like much, but with Xaume's eyes of faith it has excellent potential. Tulpetlac is deeply rooted in the Catholic religion, much like most of Mexico. (To clarify- much more syncretist and idol-based than American Catholicism) Just a few blocks away a looming statue of Juan Diego with the Virgin of Guadalupe imprinted on his cloak is a reminder that we're up against some long-lasting strongholds.
