July highlights:

  • Women's breakfast at La Palma: At this Twist start-up site, we are seeing many moms hungry for the gospel. Once-a-month, volunteers from Crece church will be coordinating a breakfast-Bible time for them to join their kiddos in drawing near (currently, Twist is happening here two Saturdays per month). This is the beginning of a church plant... 

  • Interview date! We finally heard back: Xau's Visa-Greencard interview is on September 17th in Ciudad Juarez (border town). Praise God! Praying and planning for next steps - asking for HIS direction and provision in all things.
  • Xau had great trips to Monterrey, Chiapas and San Luis Potosi to teach at youth camps, preach and teach children's ministry seminars. Liam went with him to San Luis :) In one town where they ministered, the couple has been pastoring for 27 years. They'd been praying for God to send someone to work in that town, but were shocked when He sent them to start the work! They have quite a legacy for the fight for the name of Jesus there as locals burned the church down in those early years.  
  • Baby-on-the-way! For those who haven't heard, we are expecting! Baby GIRL 💗 is due in mid-late November. Of course, praying for the God-ordained time and place for her arrival.
We are currently State-side on Ohio visit, planning to fly back end of August. 
Fourteen-Year Mark

This beginning of August, we celebrate fourteen years in Mexico. Here's a brief timeline run-down. It has been quite a journey. This is a season of transition, but continuation - seeking the expansion of His glory. 

  • 2012- Married in Ohio in July; moved to Mexico and began to minister
  • 2013- Worked  closely with Xau’s church and built connections
  • 2014- Traveled a lot ministering in camps, outreaches and churches 
  • 2015- Officially became directors of Hearts in Action, Mexico
  • 2016- Liam was born! 
  • 2017- Started first Twist Kids' Club with a local church
  • 2018- Kai was born! 
  • 2019- Worked closely with a large church 
  • 2020- Grace was born! 
  • 2021- Developed video tutorials project 
  • 2022- Published first Twist manual; began Twist Ecatepec & Crece church
  • 2023- Worked Twist Ecatepec and Crece church
  • 2024- Began developing team: Twist Ecatepec & Crece 
  • 2025- Established a start-up team for Twist Tulpetlac and Crece 
  • 2026- Made preparations for transition year; move to Ohio; Baby's arrival
  • 2027- Start ministry work State-side and continue to oversee Hearts in Action, Mexico

As we look to Ohio transition in Fall-Winter 2026, equipping the current team is key. Our aim is to continue pastoring and leading long-distance, but we will be looking to minister here as well. Please pray for these months of prep for the team, the church's adaptation to the shift, God to send those He's chosen, staff-funding and wisdom in delegating and overseeing. 

We celebrate all God has done throughout the years, long to see these ones flourish in their callings, and are expectant in this new season for which He is making a way.

Thank you so much for reading this update, following this journey with us, partnering in prayer and lifting us up with such generous and faithful support. Thank you, thank you, thank you.  But in this season of listening and waiting, we know one thing for sure: FROM Him and THROUGH Him and TO Him are ALL THINGS!

A Man of Faith

“and we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬    Juan Jaime Bueno: January 21, 1948- January 24, 2026  Xaume’s dad parted suddenly for his home with the Lord. Though we had seen a steep decline in his health and mobility, we didn’t know it would come this quickly. We honor his life as a man of faith, who treasured the Word, intercession, spiritual warfare and worship. He loved to laugh and keep up with the news. A dear friend to Xau, a father who loved him “as his own,” we will miss his regaños (scolding )  and hugs .  He loved his grandkids, and was very proud of each of them. We were proud of them as they helped unload the Operation Christmas Child boxes this December. The Crece team facilitated three outreach events where kids and families received this free gift from the Father and heard about the greatest gift: a relationship with Him.  La Palma outreach Zumpango Christmas Child Outreach...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones.
