Viva la fe!

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.                                       -Hebrews 11:6

Actually, Xaume chose the color of this wall.  It's called Mexican Pink.
Besides putting some finishing touches on our apartment, we've had a month of adventures in faith.
He's a natural chef. I'm so thankful.

September 15th is Mexico's Independence Day.  Appropriately, this month we have had the privilege of visiting three other Mexican states.

#1- Guanajuato, Guanajuato (5 hours away)

A special visitor from the States came to stay with us for a week.  Since she had spent time studying in Guanajuato, she asked if we would accompany her for a weekend trip.  Xaume and I were both surprised by the colonial beauty of this hilly, youth-filled city.

Colors, colors, colors

View as we traveled to Dolores, another city in the state of Guanajuato.

#2- Cuautla, Morelos (2 hours away)

As our desire is to fortify churches throughout Mexico, we visited two pastors in the state of Morelos to see how we could serve them. This weekend we will help with a youth event and Xaume will preach.

They were selling flags everywhere in anticipation of Independence Day.

#3- Azotlan and Jilotepec, Estado de Mexico (3-5 hours away depending on traffic)

We met with two other pastors in this varied state.  One part was tranquil and pined, while the other was pure concrete houses and unbelievably packed traffic.  Next weekend, we plan to facilitate a training for the church's children's leaders.

As we step in faith, we are asking for revelation and wisdom- that we will cling to the Word of God in all that we do.
Also, this week I start classes at Rhema Bible Training Center and Xaume will be teaching a class.  Please pray for me to absorb all that I can and that Xaume's preparation will be blessed and fruitful. Thank you!

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...
