Rest & Regroup

Lord my God, you have done many things--Your wonderful works and your plans for us; none can compare with You.  If I were to report and speak of them, they are more than can be told.   Psalm 40:5  Christmas is a season of such celebration that we often forget the battle that took place.  Revelation tells us that the dragon stood waiting to devour the child (Revelation 12:4).  Christ's life was in danger at birth, and Herod's command left the Bethlehem region devastated by child genocide.  The enemy has always wanted to strike life down before it can begin.   But the power of God is greater.   Both Xaume & I recognize God's hand in our birth stories.  After my mom had two months of bed rest, I was still two months early.  Remarkably, my hospital stay only lasted five days.   Mom and I Xaume's birth mother was apparently unprepared for his arrival, and the one he now calls Mom was approached on the street with a ...

November Already!

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.  1 Chronicles 16:34 What a relief to know that His love endures in and out of season.  When this year ends and the next begins, His love stays the same.  This month, we were excited to finally teach a class at the Bible institute together!  It was my first time teaching (since I graduated in May), and we had a blast! Our students in Leon (five hours north) were eager to absorb the 16 hour material on Children's Ministry.   And, while we were in Leon, we got to do training for children's workers at two churches: "House of Grace" and "Tree of Life." For us it's an honor to inspire as many as we can towards the joy of training young ones.  Kids are soaking up messages constantly.     And it's our job to teach them the best one!  His story and His love and His purpose is so big that it becomes new for us as we pass it on to them.   ...

Choose Life!

...I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse.  Choose life so that you and your descendants may live. Deuteronomy 30:19 That was our theme verse for our Day of Life lessons.  Since the Day of the Dead is such a huge celebration, we make the most of the opportunity and celebrate life with kids and families in churches and neighborhoods.  Here, at Word of Faith Church, we're teaching the verse (above).  Each participant helped us remember a part: Choose [road sign] life [heart] so that you may live [joggers]  you and your family [family of four]. And we got the youth involved with the game show skit. Contestants had to decide whether to "Go" or "Not to Go" with certain tempting situations.   We also taught them a choreography to our theme song: "Alive" by Hillsong Young & Free!  YOUTUBE SONG LINK That same day, we went to their new church plant in Toluca, State of Mexico.  After teachi...

September Flowers

The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.  Isaiah 40:8 Jilotzingo, Estado de Mexico His Word is the best thing we can sow into the lives of those we encounter.  This month we had several opportunities to plant.  Please pray with us that the seeds planted in spirit soil will grow strong.   Team-building with "Bethel" youth group.
