Lord my God, you have done many things--Your wonderful works and your plans for us; none can compare with You. If I were to report and speak of them, they are more than can be told.
Psalm 40:5
Christmas is a season of such celebration that we often forget the battle that took place. Revelation tells us that the dragon stood waiting to devour the child (Revelation 12:4). Christ's life was in danger at birth, and Herod's command left the Bethlehem region devastated by child genocide. The enemy has always wanted to strike life down before it can begin.
But the power of God is greater.
Both Xaume & I recognize God's hand in our birth stories. After my mom had two months of bed rest, I was still two months early. Remarkably, my hospital stay only lasted five days.
Xaume's birth mother was apparently unprepared for his arrival, and the one he now calls Mom was approached on the street with a decision that changed her life.
Whatever the story is behind your birth, God's purpose for you hasn't expired. He had something in mind from the beginning. He has something in mind now. May we listen to know what that is for each of us.
Let's pray for those meeting the world for the first time--that He use us to speak His purpose over them.
December finds us wrapping up the year so sweetly with our Ohio family and friends.
It's been really important for us to have time together. While we're thankful for skype and phone calls, those things can't replace the joy of being with loved ones.
We also were able to meet with Mario & Suzanne Babarczy, to continue establishing next steps for Hearts in Action, Mexico.
Praise God for each of you who reads this blog! We would love to hear from you. Thank you for praying for us. Thank you for sowing financially. Thank you for being our friends and loving us. Thank you for being an essential part of this year--whatever your role has been.
Our time here has enabled us to reflect on this year and press into what is ahead. Please continue to pray for wisdom and courage to move as He calls. We look forward to 2015, knowing that God will continue to surprise us as we follow after Him.
