September Flowers

The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.  Isaiah 40:8

Jilotzingo, Estado de Mexico

His Word is the best thing we can sow into the lives of those we encounter.  This month we had several opportunities to plant.  Please pray with us that the seeds planted in spirit soil will grow strong.

Team-building with "Bethel" youth group.

God likes us to have fun :)

Xaume challenging them in commitment: working to multiply what He's given us (Matthew 25:14-30)

Kids outreach in Ixtapaluca, Estado de Mexico.

We had a special visit from the administrators of Hearts in Action Guatemala: Fredy Melendez an his wife Mabel (and their son Joshua).   Paulina Sanchez, who has also worked with HIA, joined us for the week as we traveled around the Mexico City area.

Teaching the kids at this Christian school about the power of Jesus' words...

And the power of our own words to bring death or life. (Proverbs 18:21)

This was an exciting training we did with over 50 children's teachers at a church in Santa Tomas, DF.

We've got to become like children!

At this Christian school we taught The Great Commission: to share His Good News wherever we go.

Conducting a training for teachers before an outreach at the park!

Getting the verse ready!

Kids and parents came and heard the message!

Go team!

We were so excited to have this opportunity to share with the youngsters at this public middle school in Jilotzingo, Estado de Mexico.  The lesson emphasized speaking only words of encouragement: an especially critical point at this age.  When we asked what the principal thought, he asked us to come back and share with those who attend in the morning.  Due to high population here in Mexico, there's usually a morning session and an afternoon session.

And to close out the week we visited this church out in the corn fields of Toluca.  The kids were so receptive as we prayed over them and prayed for their parents.

Thank you for reading and thank you for your role in making this possible.  May we continue to spread His Word in every place.  Please pray for us as we walk into the next steps He has for us.  We love you!

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...
