December

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
1 John 3:1

Acapulco!  Some kind friends of ours let us use their beautiful home here on the coast!

I'm a bit late for Christmas, but it's Kings Day here (a day the three kings are supposed to bring kids their toys).  So we're still celebrating!
As we do, we rejoice in the purpose He had for us since the beginning- to reunite us to Him as His children!

In Xochimilco- these are the boats they row you around on as you eat your tacos.

We are having a lovely time with my parents.  They are getting to see a good part of the city and some other parts of Mexico.  So you can ask them about it when they get back :) We are so thankful to have them here- praise God for His power and provision!

Earlier in the month of December, Xaume and I held two trainings for youth who serve in the youth group- covering the importance of service and expectations for them as leaders.

Before Christmas we collaborated with a church to present an outreach event in a poor area outside the city.  Children and adults came to hear the Good News of why Jesus came.  Several people received the Lord for the first time. Amen!

And to finish the year, we were honored to preach at our church for the last Sunday of 2013.  Xaume gave the message and I sang a song in response of worship.

Praise God for this year. He is our Sustainer, our Fortress, our Hope.  May He be exalted in all that we do.  Please pray that we will be sensitive to His voice in each step this year.  We are expectant for His Glory to continue to break through in Mexico and around the world.

Thank you for your support all throughout the year. We can't thank you enough.  As the Body of Christ you are an essential part.

We pray that "the eyes of your heart may be enlightened to know what is the hope of His calling, what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength." (Ephesians 4:18-19)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  We love you!

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...
