Flew-by February

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father!"-- Romans 8:15

Some of the country side entering the state of Puebla where we will do one of the outreach events.
In preparation for a March missions trip, we went with church leaders to scope out the places we'll be visiting.  The towns we'll be working with are in the state of Morelos, just south of the Federal District. These villages are low-income, agricultural regions, so our aim is to meet physical needs, (donations of food and clothing) but more so, to satisfy their spiritual hunger for Christ Jesus.

One of the sites we'll be working with.  Please pray for all those going on the mission trip and those who will be attending.

We were excited to be able to do some remodeling/rearranging in our apartment.  Instead of having bedroom closet extend as far out as before, we moved it back, and converted a part of the bedroom into our new closet space.  It opened up the apartment and provides space to create an office area- which is wonderful.

I would send pictures, but we've still got some more work to do.
Thanks to Xaume's creativity and hard work, it's looking great!

In our yard :)

After the trips to Home Depot, the drilling, and painting, Xaume has been teaching a new class at a campus in the north of the city.  The class is called 'Pauline Justice' and explains our position as justified before God through Christ.   It also addresses God's view of righteousness and our rights in Him.

I'm so proud of you, Xaume.

As we continue to work with the youth groups and youth leaders on Friday and Saturday evenings, I had the privilege of giving one of the messages this month.  As it is the 'love month' I shared on God's love for us as it extends to becoming His sons and heirs. (Romans 8:15-17- see blog's opening verse)

And praise God, two young men received the Lord that evening!

Here's Xaume teaching about sharing our faith at an evangelism training session.  He emphasized the confidence we have in our God- that we have nothing to be ashamed of: "I'm not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God's power for salvation to everyone who believes..." Romans 1:16.

Thank you for reading :)  And thank you for encouraging and supporting us.  It really blesses us. We are excited about who God is and how He continues to teach and lead us in Truth.

Please pray for:
  • The youth group students and leaders to press into Christ
  • Planning for the March missions trip (15-21) and the 30 students who will be traveling from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
  • Wisdom and guidance by the Holy Spirit in all that we do.

Thank you.  We love you and bless you in His Name!

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...
