Happy Leap Year!

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord's glory, as the waters cover the sea.
Habakkuk 2:14

Between doctor's visits, meetings, conferences, visitors, publicity preparation, ministry event planning and venue searching, preparations have been exciting!   God keeps opening doors, and we're so expectant for baby's arrival!

A fun baby shower kicked off the month and, as always, God is so faithful to provide!  Thanks to all of you who helped make this possible and for blessing us so much!

God has supernaturally strengthened me during this time, and it's been a blessing to be been able to continue teaching and ministering.

The pastors of this church invited us to share with their congregation on the importance of ministering to children. They're located in a really rough neighborhood, but God is fortifying the Body and they want to be ready for kids!

We taught three Sunday seminars here at Emmanuel Christian Church - looking into what Scripture says about God's view of children, His call on their lives and our responsibility both as parents and teachers.

Many were moved to take a more active role in this area of ministry. Pray that God continue to affirm the role of each one and empower the kids' ministry!

We took time to pray for the kids (below).  They are not just "the future"; they are with us now!  We have to be intentional with them every day- blessing them as Jesus did and training them up in righteousness.

May the Word God which was sown into the hearts of each hearer grow and produce fruit.  In the future (probably April) we'll be leading a more in-depth training for those who commit to serve in this area.  Here below they are signing up to be a part!  Amen.

Walls of Salvation and Gates of Praise is another church we were blessed to work with this month.

The children's leaders have been taking their teachers through a 15-hour training, and we got to be a part of two sessions this month - focusing on teaching techniques.  Next Saturday we'll wrap up our last our block.

They've been very attentive and dedicated.  We pray that these ideas and tools serve as a base to unleash their creativity!

To wrap up the month we were so excited to have the opportunity to do our first kids' outreach of the year!  Pastor Juan Pedro began this house church about five months ago. Christ the Healer Church is now officially opening its doors to the neighborhood, and they wanted to invite the kids!

So that's what we did.  The church did a great job inviting people from the community all week long and, praise God many new faces came to hear the good news!

Kids and their parents listened attentively to the Gospel message, and quite a few raised their hands to receive Jesus for the first time!

Afterwards, members of the church were ready with pen and paper to write down prayer requests and contact info for those interested.  Here's Pastor Juan sharing with them! (don't mind the overalls - he had helped with one of the skits and was so excited he left his costume on!)

As I was catching up with a friend a sister church, she shared that two of the families that had attended an outreach we facilitated at her church last year are now members of the Body!  And one of the young women just got baptized - thank you God!

Thank you, Jesus for these beautiful lives and the transformation you long to bring! We bless them and pray that hunger for more of your Word brings them back week-by-week!

We're expectant for more of Him every day.  Thank you for your prayers and love!  May He continue surprising each of us with His glory as we press into Him.  Please keep praying for the message of Jesus to spread through this land and break through the darkness.  He is greater!

Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—  making the most of the time, because the days are evil.    -Ephesians 5:15-16 God gave me a word for each month this year and February's word was TIME.  The goal: listening AND OBEYING His direction for how to spend time. He knows best - so yielding to His Word has been a challenge since I often think I know what needs to be done and when. But it's so refreshing when we do obey and get to experience His perfect wisdom!   Pray for these ones to continue to grow in their knowledge and walk with God! This past month... Crece Church Plant News:  Two women (mother and daughter) were baptized - expressing their desire to follow Christ completely.  Despite all her nerves and wanting to back out, Imara taught her first time on a Sunday morning! She was baptized last February. (Brayan also preached this month - we continue to encourage ones to let themselves be stretched and u...

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

Pressed

“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ It’s been a tough month. Good things but also some heavy pushback, spiritually. I’ve been prayerfully aware of the weight of this area we’ve targeted to minister in: Ecatepec. The name literally means “hill of the god of the air.” We know there’s quite a stronghold of the enemy in the region. And though it often feels like we’re working a pickax, we’re thankful  that His praise is the constant. And for the promise that we WILL NOT BE CRUSHED.  Highlights:  Worship night at Karina’s  home  (just two blocks from Crece church)  this Saturday night!  It was a great  time for the young people to come together, have some good hang out time and then mov...
