Baby's Here!

Jesus replied, "I assure you: unless someone is born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven."  John 3:3

God reminded me to check out this passage anew a few days after Liam was born.  What an exciting call to be born again - to enter a whole new world, the world of the Spirit!  A world where we're totally dependent on Him every hour.

Here we were a couple days before the big day - running some errands downtown for Liam!  Actually, the day he was born we had the last training session with a group of teachers at a church.  I was going to accompany Xau, but when contractions kept coming we decided against it... He went, gave the training and came right back!

Laura and Isaac (standing up front) are the kids' ministry leaders.  We pray that each teacher was encouraged and empowered by the training time together!  Here's what they said: "Your lessons were very useful because they taught us dynamically and simply.  You helped us to see some of our weak areas so we can improve, and you showed us how to capture the attention of a group in order to teach biblical truths.  You're both great in front of a group!"  Amen - thank you God!

Here he is :)  Praise God everything went smoothly!  After hearing his first cries in the delivery room, I couldn't stop crying myself.  The doctors kept asking me if I was ok and all I could reply is, "I'm just so happy!"  What an awesome experience.

And thankfully everything was fine with our blood!  Since he's O +, they did give me the injection - which is a huge praise along with all the hospital expenses.  We paid a fraction of what it would normally cost since this is a special independent hospital. Thank you, Jesus!

Our first family photo!  One week old!

Below, Liam and I went with Xau as he had been invited to share at a youth service.   He ministered on our call to share Christ with those around us.  We have such Good News!

Pray with us for this youth group as they are going through a transition time, and need a strong leader to step up and disciple them weekly.

And... Grandma and Grandpa Rimelspach came to visit!  It was such a sweet time together - to share Liam, share our home and city, rest, laugh, and relax!

Thanks to Dad's pruning, chopping, planting, watering, etc., we had a whole yard makeover!

Dying eggs with the in-laws.  I mean, how often do you get to do that?!

Dad.  Enough said.

New dad :) Sooo sweet.

Mom.  Thank you for all your wonderful cooking!  It really blesses us!

Thank you  Mom and Dad!! We love you!  Thanks for taking the time and making this awesome adventure possible! xoxo

To close the month, Xau served as a leader and speaker at this two-day kids' camp!  The theme was "It's for You" as kids learned about offering sacrifices of praise to God.

Xau shared the story of the walls of Jericho.  He paralleled it to the barriers that we allow in our lives keeping us from God's purpose.  Not until we give them over to Him can we break through as the Israelites' shouts did!

Thanks to all of you for being part of our lives and ministry!  And now Liam's : )  We are thrilled for this life God has entrusted to us  - lent to us.  Please keep praying for us and the privilege of being parents. We bless you!

Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—  making the most of the time, because the days are evil.    -Ephesians 5:15-16 God gave me a word for each month this year and February's word was TIME.  The goal: listening AND OBEYING His direction for how to spend time. He knows best - so yielding to His Word has been a challenge since I often think I know what needs to be done and when. But it's so refreshing when we do obey and get to experience His perfect wisdom!   Pray for these ones to continue to grow in their knowledge and walk with God! This past month... Crece Church Plant News:  Two women (mother and daughter) were baptized - expressing their desire to follow Christ completely.  Despite all her nerves and wanting to back out, Imara taught her first time on a Sunday morning! She was baptized last February. (Brayan also preached this month - we continue to encourage ones to let themselves be stretched and u...

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

Pressed

“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ It’s been a tough month. Good things but also some heavy pushback, spiritually. I’ve been prayerfully aware of the weight of this area we’ve targeted to minister in: Ecatepec. The name literally means “hill of the god of the air.” We know there’s quite a stronghold of the enemy in the region. And though it often feels like we’re working a pickax, we’re thankful  that His praise is the constant. And for the promise that we WILL NOT BE CRUSHED.  Highlights:  Worship night at Karina’s  home  (just two blocks from Crece church)  this Saturday night!  It was a great  time for the young people to come together, have some good hang out time and then mov...
