June

Swaths and puffs and sprays of cloudscapes are your brushstrokes...

Flying this month was especially fun since it was Liam's first time!  What a lovely visit we had in Ohio - so good to see so many awesome people, and for those we missed, we look forward to next time!

Meeting his cousins!

Thanks to all who made our trip so special!! You bless us TANTO (so much!)

And his uncle... :)

Sweet grandparents were thrilled, of course
Also, special thanks to all of you at Heritage Christian Church who gave us a chance to minister with you!  Here below we're with the college group - challenging each other with some questions about His love.

With Heritage Kids, we shared the story of Saul and, to close, we took a moment to pray together for God's purpose in each of them. At one service, we extended the invitation to ask Jesus into their lives for the first time and four brave youngsters stepped forward!

We also got to share our story with the high school group. God's call for us is definitely the best and the most exciting - even when it's not what we may have expected : )

After a couple days back in Mexico City, it was time to fly out again, this time to Leon, Guanajuato.  Arbol de Vida Church (Tree of Life) invited us up to serve alongside their mission group and coordinate kids' outreach programs.

It was a powerful time of seeing people respond to Jesus. Over 300 for the first time! God touched many more as we took time to pray over individuals at the end of each event.

One evening I translated prayer for one of the ladies.  We prayed for a woman from the local church who had been having weeks of back pain.  After we prayed she said the pain had gone down.  Later, another lady from the group prayed for the same woman and her pain was totally gone! Amen!

Below we're praying for some of the children at an orphanage.  These kids were especially receptive, and praise God the two ladies in charge are believers so they give great follow up.

As we prayed, Xaume encouraged us to listen for a word for a specific child.  When I looked at this little boy, God told me "wisdom."  So I went over, asked him his name, and laid hands on him.  I started affirming the wisdom that God had for him - that he was a wise young man and that he would grow in wisdom as he read the Bible. When I looked up, Joseph had tears in his eyes. He'd received a word of life from His heavenly Father!

On our last day, Abel & Nayeli invited us to share with some youth in their home.  It's a tough area with quite a bit of drug abuse and delinquency.  They're reaching out to young people in the area through soccer.  Xaume shared his testimony and exhorted them to give their dreams to God - the only one able to see us through all the distractions the world offers.

Praise God for all He's done this month and all He has ahead. We're glad to be back home for a couple weeks and are taking the step of faith to expand our apartment to have more office space.  Please pray with us for wisdom and for Him to continue opening the way!

Thanks for reading!!  - Xau, Anna & Liam

Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—  making the most of the time, because the days are evil.    -Ephesians 5:15-16 God gave me a word for each month this year and February's word was TIME.  The goal: listening AND OBEYING His direction for how to spend time. He knows best - so yielding to His Word has been a challenge since I often think I know what needs to be done and when. But it's so refreshing when we do obey and get to experience His perfect wisdom!   Pray for these ones to continue to grow in their knowledge and walk with God! This past month... Crece Church Plant News:  Two women (mother and daughter) were baptized - expressing their desire to follow Christ completely.  Despite all her nerves and wanting to back out, Imara taught her first time on a Sunday morning! She was baptized last February. (Brayan also preached this month - we continue to encourage ones to let themselves be stretched and u...

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

Pressed

“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ It’s been a tough month. Good things but also some heavy pushback, spiritually. I’ve been prayerfully aware of the weight of this area we’ve targeted to minister in: Ecatepec. The name literally means “hill of the god of the air.” We know there’s quite a stronghold of the enemy in the region. And though it often feels like we’re working a pickax, we’re thankful  that His praise is the constant. And for the promise that we WILL NOT BE CRUSHED.  Highlights:  Worship night at Karina’s  home  (just two blocks from Crece church)  this Saturday night!  It was a great  time for the young people to come together, have some good hang out time and then mov...
