HALF: June

You do not have to fight this battle. Position yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord. He is with you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged.
2 Chronicles 20:17

Halfway through the year! And we rejoice that HE is the one who fights our battles - our salvation if we do our part and prepare, or position ourselves.

At our Passing the Torch II seminar, teachers became kids again as we taught specifically on age groups 0-4.  They were eager to learn, and joined us from several different churches just by seeing the announcement on Facebook.  Thank you God!

Jesus teaching about the Creation story

Gus as Noah and his tools for the ark

A church called Center for Life in Fullness invited us to do an all day Creative Impact seminar. It was another exciting time imparting the vision and tools for kids ministry! One teacher wrote, "God spoke to me through this teaching to be more disciplined and to be more committed in the ministry."

Since Xaume and I (and Jesus) have been busy busy this month getting ready for the opening of Twist Kids' Club, we prepped Gus and his wife with the lesson and materials they'd need to go to Leon, Guanajuato in our stead.

For the past several years we've worked with Tree of Life Leon to coordinate children's outreach events when mission teams come down.  Gus and Nahari did an awesome job.  They spent a total of two weeks in Leon this month, ministering to nearly 500 kids and their families.

Another Saturday of training here below - a young church invited us to pass on some ideas for working with children and youth.

And, of course we don't want to totally abandon our YouTube channel!  So, friends of ours from a nearby church came to film this new addition: Worship and Children.

TWIST.  As I've mentioned, this month was the big push to get things ready for kids' club!  It's been exhausting and exciting.  Sometimes I think to myself, "I hope this all is worth it."  But then God reminds me - what better investment is there?

Xaume, Jesus, and the team from the partnering church spent two full days renovating the rental space: cleaning, painting, decorating and building the stage.

Then we had our grand opening :)  Presentation, food, inflatables, registration, etc. Despite a couple organizational loopholes, it was a great.  This whole process is a learning process!  One of the ladies from the church runs a business that makes these kind of costumes.  She donated our own original Twist character - Tito.

We're off to a great, and challenging adventure!  Seventy-two kids signed up that day.  We are praying that every one of them, and many more come to know and follow Jesus.  Please pray for lasting change in this community, and many others through God's Word taught at Twist.

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...
