One whole year! December

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.
2 Peter 3:18

As this year comes to a close and a new one opens, we're asking and seeking to grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

TWIST kids' club was especially fun this month as we celebrated Christmas!  Saturday the 2nd we did a mini pageant of the birth of Jesus with the kids and emphasized John 3:17 - God sent His Son into the world not to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

Saturday the 9th was our Christmas bash - with music, prizes, gifts, prayer, food and of course the reminder of why we celebrate.

While we did pray for the kids, we also took a time to encourage them to pray over the teachers and pastors.

Finally, we were able to donate t-shirts to 22 of the kids with highest attendance over these past six months.  These two pictured above are there every Saturday.  They may be wild at times, have a tough home life, not have the best hygiene, but we love on them and speak the Word over them and are seeing a change in their countenance. That reminds us why this club exists.
Claudia, a member of the church, donated gifts to each child who attended!  Cute t-shirts for everybody.

Thanks to donations from several different friends, we got to raffle off two bikes! We also raffled off some other gifties to the kids and the teachers and volunteers as well.

One of the winners, Javier, comes faithfully to club and lives just in front of the place where we meet.  He was ecstatic :)

And of course, a Mexican Christmas tradition, the piñatas and ponche (hot punch made with all kinds of fruits) were present too thanks to other donors!

We had a special invitation from Rhema to share in a series they were doing on Bible couples.  We chose Boaz and Ruth!  It was a privilege to teach the Word together that night.

Then, we had an unexpected opportunity to be a part of the staff at Youth Explosion -  a three day national youth conference held each year here in the city.   Our church, Conquering Frontiers is the host, and it is a HUGE amount of work.  We were so blessed and honored to be a part of the action and to witness God's move in so many youth.

Our role was back stage as co-hosts of the live stream forum.  So, basically, we were on the air for those watching from home, and on the screen for those attending.  We did announcements, commercials, interviews and games with the special guest speakers.

A couple thousand young people were there this year to fill up on the Word, worship, and take the message back to their hometowns.

God continues to surprise us as He opens the way for us.  Pray that we can listen attentively to His voice and enjoy the journey He has us on.

We love you and ask Him to fill you up with every spiritual blessing and to meet every need according to His power and abundance.  Thank you for so faithfully partnering with us.

HAPPY 2018!!!

Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—  making the most of the time, because the days are evil.    -Ephesians 5:15-16 God gave me a word for each month this year and February's word was TIME.  The goal: listening AND OBEYING His direction for how to spend time. He knows best - so yielding to His Word has been a challenge since I often think I know what needs to be done and when. But it's so refreshing when we do obey and get to experience His perfect wisdom!   Pray for these ones to continue to grow in their knowledge and walk with God! This past month... Crece Church Plant News:  Two women (mother and daughter) were baptized - expressing their desire to follow Christ completely.  Despite all her nerves and wanting to back out, Imara taught her first time on a Sunday morning! She was baptized last February. (Brayan also preached this month - we continue to encourage ones to let themselves be stretched and u...

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

Pressed

“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ It’s been a tough month. Good things but also some heavy pushback, spiritually. I’ve been prayerfully aware of the weight of this area we’ve targeted to minister in: Ecatepec. The name literally means “hill of the god of the air.” We know there’s quite a stronghold of the enemy in the region. And though it often feels like we’re working a pickax, we’re thankful  that His praise is the constant. And for the promise that we WILL NOT BE CRUSHED.  Highlights:  Worship night at Karina’s  home  (just two blocks from Crece church)  this Saturday night!  It was a great  time for the young people to come together, have some good hang out time and then mov...
