Take delight in the Lord,
and He will give you your heart's desires.
Psalm 37:4

God often brings me back to this promise.  It's a constant encouragement and mystery to me, and I ask myself what it means to delight in Him?  To start with, it seems to require my initiative.  To intentionally learn to rejoice in who He is, to enjoy His presence, to trust Him so completely that there's no doubt He'll see to fulfilling what I most long for...

So the question is, "What do I most long for?" One of the desires of our heart is to see children and children's leaders hungry for Jesus.  That's why Twist exists.

Twist Kids' Club:  This month the teachers and volunteers who will be opening their own club in March came to do the lessons at the existing site.  It gave them the opportunity to get some practice!

One of our goals for Twist is to connect the local church with the community.  Praise God the church organized their second women's breakfast this month (below).  Little by little moms are gaining confidence with Twist and the local church, and most importantly, receiving the Word of God.

AND...since we do something special at the end of each month, this month's Fiesta Twist was to go to the movies!  It was a challenge - the first time we've taken the kids somewhere - but overall very exciting.  For many of the kids, it was the first time they had been.

There's a great video Xau made of the field trip on Facebook.  Here's the link: Facebook Link TWIST trip

In Twist Chalco - where the second club will open - we held a training for children's teachers and volunteers.  A ministry called Amy & Andy (a couple who also focuses on children's outreach) came to teach and minister.  God gave many of the teachers a specific word through the prayer time.  One friend shared that God confirmed to him decisions he needed to take to continue on in the ministry.

Xaume was invited to preach at the church below in an area of the city where we haven't worked much.  The region is called Naucalpan.  It's a whole whole other world of high density population (see second photo below: taken from the church window).  Pray for the pastor, Moses and for his brother Noah who wants to open another church in another area of the city.

Praise God for His grace!  During a very busy weekend, we were able to facilitate an outreach with a church called Mahanaim.  Two other churches in the area are just starting and one of the leaders from Mahanaim, our friend Leo, wanted to include them.  It was the first time they've done an outreach like this in the community.

The audience was very receptive - glory to God. At least 50 people raised their hands to have prayed to receive Jesus for the first time! Afterward, Leo asked two parents to come forward and share what they thought of the event.  The dad who came up thanked us for sharing about God and the Bible with the kids since it's something that as as parent he wasn't brave enough to do.

Ministry bit:
Meetings: maybe not the most exciting aspect of ministry, but definitely necessary.  Since the beginning of the year, a friend of ours named Ale has joined the team.  (Gustavo has moved to another city.) She is helping a lot with Twist specifically meetings, administrative details, planning and even lesson writing.  Please pray for her to have wisdom and efficiency in this new role and for provision to keep supporting her (and Jesus).

Family news:
Liam.  He loves CLIMBING.  We've been taking him to the park more often, and he's repeating most words now.  The pregnancy is going well.  Praise God all my test results came back normal.  As always, Xaume and I are working on balancing our time in ministry and as a couple/family.  Pray that we can establish healthy limits, stay organized, and delegate properly.

Other prayer points:
- A newer vehicle since ours does not circulate on Fridays and two Saturdays a month.
- The possibility of moving to a more central location
- The leader of Twist Chalco (Judith) mother's health

It means so much to us that you've taken the time to read up on what's happening.  Thank you for your faithfulness to love, pray for and support us.  We send our love and pray that God may fill you up to overflowing!

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...
