April Stories

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
His mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

- Lamentations 3:22-23

Where would we be without His mercy?

He never ceases to amaze us.

Stories:

Priscila and her husband Jesus.

Pris

Not only has Pris been the best baby sitter ever, she truly has a servant’s heart and is always eager to learn and take initiative. She has great experience with kids’ ministry and…is coming aboard as a member of the Hearts in Action team!

We are taking the step of faith to support her work because we see such potential and want her to continue developing her gifts and fulfill her calling!

Mazda 5
Over a year ago we decided not to pay the bribe for our 2006 Escape to “pass” the verification test.  Hence, every Friday and two Saturdays a month our car "rested" from circulating in the city.  It was often frustrating trying to cross the city in public transportation, not being able to transport materials, or planning trips on Thursdays to take what we would need for that Saturday.

When Xau saw that a friend from church posted the Mazda sale, he immediately thought it might be for us! It was just what we were looking for. When we went to see it, we were totally surprised at his offer – he would sell us the Mazda for the price he bought it for AND he would take our Escape as credit.  He wouldn´t charge us interest, and we´d pay off the rest in one year.

Well, once again God astounded us.  Thanks to a few generous donors, we have paid it off in full!  We are so thankful!

Viento Nuevo (New Wind)
Lalo and Ale have been praying for many months for a place for Twist Kids´ Club Ecatepec (see last month´s entry for map). After several trips of looking and asking, they specifically prayed thanking God for a facility someone was going to let them use (where they wouldn´t have to pay rent).

A couple months ago a friend of theirs mentioned that they had a property they
weren´t using, but that she needed to check with her husband about it.  Without her prompting, her husband brought up the topic and suggested they lend the property as a mission for Lalo and Ale!  God´s confirmation and timing is the best.

The unfinished two-story house will need a lot of work, but it´s a great start.  Now it´s just a matter of preparing the space little by little – windows, doors, electric/lighting, painting, bathrooms, flooring, etc.

Diego
I met Diego´s mom, Yazmín back in September when Malakai was in the hospital.  Twelve-year-old Diego is battling cancer.  He´s been in and out of the hospital since we met.  Mostly he´s been in the hospital.

At hospital visits these past few months Yazmín and I have prayed together many times, talked about scripture, and I´ve given her a couple books to lift her spirits and challenge her faith.

We´re believing together for Diego´s full recovery by the power and blood of Jesus.  Please join with us in this cry to our Heavenly Father for Diego´s life and purpose.  He has an amazing way of hearing God´s voice.
Pray he´ll continue to hear God´s voice every day and to hunger after Him all the days of his life.

What we´ve been up to this month:

An all day training at a church in Puebla, Puebla (two-hours from Mexico City).

The children´s pastor came to a training here in the city in January and wanted her team and other missions to be renewed in their ministry.   Praise God they were very receptive and encouraged.

Twist Kids´ Club Jaltenco had it´s official opening and registration!

Kids´ Day outreaches:

1. Outreach at Lamb of God Church

2. Outdoor outreach with Mount Zion Church

3. Outreach at Heroes of Faith Family Church

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...

A Man of Faith

“and we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬    Juan Jaime Bueno: January 21, 1948- January 24, 2026  Xaume’s dad parted suddenly for his home with the Lord. Though we had seen a steep decline in his health and mobility, we didn’t know it would come this quickly. We honor his life as a man of faith, who treasured the Word, intercession, spiritual warfare and worship. He loved to laugh and keep up with the news. A dear friend to Xau, a father who loved him “as his own,” we will miss his regaños (scolding )  and hugs .  He loved his grandkids, and was very proud of each of them. We were proud of them as they helped unload the Operation Christmas Child boxes this December. The Crece team facilitated three outreach events where kids and families received this free gift from the Father and heard about the greatest gift: a relationship with Him.  La Palma outreach Zumpango Christmas Child Outreach...
