December 2020

Proclaim Yahweh's greatness with me; let us exalt His name together.

Psalm 34:3
Happiest New Year to you all! We're so thankful for all that God has done. Expectantly, we await what HE has ahead. Let us indeed exalt His name together!
One of our favorite times a week is Wednesday night Bible study with Ciro and Angeles.  It really is a time of community for us.  Pris, our friend and personal assistant, ministers to and plays with the kids (Angel & Aaron) while we study the Word together.
This year we've gone through the Pentateuch and Joshua.
We pray for their eldest, Joel, to make a personal decision for a relationship with the Father.  While we're gone, he's doing some "house sitting" for us as he continues online design and editing courses on our computer.
As we wrapped up and worked to leave things in order in Mexico, the Twist clubs did their last event of the year -  Christmas lessons! Please keep praying for the host local churches to be fortified and full of the Spirit as they minister to these young lives.
Before we left for Ohio, we were blessed to have some special time with Xau's family.  A dear friend of the family got married, so we made a little trip of it. It was really sweet to do something with them as a year-end kind of celebration.
And...we successfully made it to Ohio! Praise God (although with some difficulty) we did get both of Grace's passports in time and had no trouble on the journey.  Here are Mom and Dad meeting Grace in-person for the first time!
It has been absolutely wonderful to visit. We've been able to have such fun with family, talk, and just enjoy one another's company. Praying we can make the most of this time together and continue encouraging and ministering to hearts!
Cousin time!

Sledding with cousins, Grandma and Grandpa, and Uncle Paul!

Visiting Great Grandpa and Grandma

Zoom visit with this amazing Life Group

We praise God for each of you, and pray that this year He continues to astound you with the riches of His grace and power.  Even though we might not get to see all of you in-person on this visit, we're thinking of and praying for you. Being State-side reminds us to keep lifting up this nation to Him - that He be exalted in this land! Love and virtual hugs.

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...
