January 2021

God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my life.

Psalm 54:4

What a present God we serve.  He reminds me again and again how one thing matters - being with Him. From that place I can go about the rest...
Like most, we're full of ideas for what we can do this year. God's Word to me yesterday was again His question of: WHO do you want to be?

We are so thankful for the refreshing, precious time in Ohio.  Though there were many we didn't see in person, we're glad we did see some and some via internet.  It really was a blessing to have focused time with my parents, brother and sister (and fam).
It is good to be back, but, of course, it's always a transition. We're trying to adapt and re-adjust especially with Liam at home (school's all online at the moment) and getting into a routine with three little ones and trying to work in office-time.
We took a short online time-management course and made these color-coded general schedules.  They're flexible, but have been helpful as we look to this year and write out goals and vision.  Xaume is ambitious as usual. But we'll keep working towards things a day at a time.  Keep praying, above all, for us to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Tenacity, the video tutorial website, as well as writing and publishing Twist Kids' Club materials are among the main projects for the year.  Thanks to your generous giving, we were able to pay for another part of the web design process.
And, we are happy to have found a graphic designer who will be working with us for a great rate.  She's already set about her first tasks (above.)

I will try to detail more next time, but for now I'll leave it at that. Thank you so much for reading and for being in our lives! We thank God for you.

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...
