Immediately Jesus reached out His hand, caught hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Matthew 14:31

Kids' Day and Mother's Day celebrations this month with the Mexico family

Jesus’ simple rebuke to Peter becomes His words to me when all I’m seeing are the waves and wind - the obstacles and apparent barriers. Why did you doubt, you of little faith? Nothing is impossible for Me...

So I’m reminded to lean on His power and not my sight - to hark His reassurance to me time and time again: TRUST IN MY LOVE.

Xau and I finished our discipleship classes at church this month - after eight levels - each of 16 classes over the past three years!

It's been an interesting month - feels almost like we're just starting the year. Liam's now back to going to school every day, Xau went to visit Twist Chalco twice this month, more movement starting up around the city, etc. At the same time, we know the virus is far from gone. Please pray with us for Pastora Paty's recovery as she's been in the hospital from Covid for the past couple weeks - getting off the respirator just a few days ago (pastor couple for the church of Twist Ixtapaluca).

Twist Chalco continues to meet in the seven small-groups in homes which Xau was eager to visit.  The 23 teachers and assistants are mainly youth and teens from the host church. Join us in praying for them to mature supernaturally in their walks with Christ and for us to have wisdom in encouraging and discipling them.  As Xau went out the second time to treat them to a meal and give out gift baggies for Teacher's Day, he commented to me that he almost saw them "as sheep without a shepherd" - willing and eager but with little direction. He was able, however to share a few classes this month in their online Romans Bible study - offered to the youth of the church which many of them are a part of.

One of the small groups Xau visited as he made a "circuit" to see each one.  (Even though he's Mexican, he heard one of the kids comment to another, "Here comes the guy from America"😂 the power of association I suppose.)

Twist Chalco leader, Judith, and her husband Ciro who has been helping as well. They just recently moved and are not as close-by as before which has created some difficulty. Her father asked them to move out of his house (even though they had a separate area) and have been building their own place.

Thank you for reading! Two other quick updates -
1. The Twist Manual book is still underway. Our graphic designer suggested unifying the illustrations, so that will hopefully conclude in June.
2. Also Xau is now back to video editing for the next two tutorials to prepare them for the training website, and we've commissioned web designers to create a separate Twist page.

Thank you all for joining in this journey with us. We're honored to serve. Praying we can listen all the more attentively to His voice.

Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—  making the most of the time, because the days are evil.    -Ephesians 5:15-16 God gave me a word for each month this year and February's word was TIME.  The goal: listening AND OBEYING His direction for how to spend time. He knows best - so yielding to His Word has been a challenge since I often think I know what needs to be done and when. But it's so refreshing when we do obey and get to experience His perfect wisdom!   Pray for these ones to continue to grow in their knowledge and walk with God! This past month... Crece Church Plant News:  Two women (mother and daughter) were baptized - expressing their desire to follow Christ completely.  Despite all her nerves and wanting to back out, Imara taught her first time on a Sunday morning! She was baptized last February. (Brayan also preached this month - we continue to encourage ones to let themselves be stretched and u...

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

Pressed

“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ It’s been a tough month. Good things but also some heavy pushback, spiritually. I’ve been prayerfully aware of the weight of this area we’ve targeted to minister in: Ecatepec. The name literally means “hill of the god of the air.” We know there’s quite a stronghold of the enemy in the region. And though it often feels like we’re working a pickax, we’re thankful  that His praise is the constant. And for the promise that we WILL NOT BE CRUSHED.  Highlights:  Worship night at Karina’s  home  (just two blocks from Crece church)  this Saturday night!  It was a great  time for the young people to come together, have some good hang out time and then mov...
