Twist Chalco - Covadonga

Early this month we ran into a group of YWAMers who'd just arrived for the outreach portion of their DTS.  We gladly involved them in stations for the kids at the outreach. (Yes, they know Stephanie!)

We ended up getting in contact and were thrilled that the YWAM group got to visit two of the Twist clubs! The Twist Chalco visit was especially timely, as they've had several volunteers step out just this month.

Other big news: it's happening! The Twist Manual is being printed.  Praise God we have reached our fundraising goal and are waiting for it to come literally hot off the press.

THANK YOU for each one who has been a part of cheering us on, praying and giving in this process.  We're excited to keep writing!

Ministering to kids at a church during three services left us with several stories.  Here's just one:

Eleven-year-old Brenda was taller than me.   Light brown hair and a puffy winter coat despite her open-mid-drift blouse, she timidly approached as the children's leader asked us to pray for her since she had suffered a partial facial paralysis during the week.  Brenda explained that it was her mom that worried her. You could tell it weighed heavily on her, whatever it was Mom was going through.

Laying hands on her, we prayed for 100% restoration for all the nerves and for her to lay every weight at Jesus' feet.  That was exactly what the lesson was on - giving our burdens to Jesus and receiving, in exchange, all the good gifts He has for us: love, peace, eternal life!

Here's Malakai, studying an injured gecko (our fauna) as the kids were home for the past week and a half on virtual school due to the peak in Covid.  They started back to school today (phew!) but we made it through pretty ok - trying our best to enjoy the mini quarantine.

Sending our love! Praising our God!

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...
