November Newness

This month, like usual, had its many moments of stress. But, as we look back, we celebrate God's goodness and as Xau would say: focus on the positive!

The photo above is what the space is looking like now (Twist Kids' Club Ecatepec and the first Crece church plant). Below, you can see how it was registered on Google maps in May:

We know, it's just a physical place and that the PEOPLE are most important. However, we have done our best to make it as clean and welcoming a space as possible. And, as a friend reminded me, "focus on raising an altar of praise, and the rest will come."

With Crece, we're excited to ones come to Christ for the first time, and we pray for and encourage the majority who just starting their walk with Jesus. They come with lots of questions and hungry to learn more. Many are facing tough situations with their families, health, etc. Pray with us for each one to encounter Jesus more every day and to draw strength from Him!
Twist Kids' Club this month was bustling with preparations for the Christmas party.  Pray for these young ones and their families to be renewed by God's Word and presence. And that the Christmas party can be a door for new kids and parents to hear the Good News. (Also, for God's covering and protection while we're away in Ohio)
New floor down just the other day! It's a slow process fixing up, but it's a MILLION times better than what it was.  Going forward, we are needing more volunteers and workers as the work grows, and for HIS wisdom every step of the way.

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...
