December Days

Back home in Mexico for the New Year

Happy New Year! Isn’t it amazing how in one night a whole year comes to a close and another begins? Praying He renews your hope in Him each new day.

Such a gift from the Father to get to be with loved ones for the Christmas season.
A special honor to be there for my mom's 70th birthday celebration!

Our visit to Ohio was a blast. A joy to see so many of you, and those we missed, we hope to catch up in the near future :)
And of course - the snow was AWESOME. Yes, freezing, but such an answer to prayer for the kids to get to experience it.
Before leaving Mexico we had a flurry of activity: Twist Christmas party and church Christmas service/brunch. It was quite a lot to squeeze in but was fun despite the rush.  Many came to check out Crece (Sunday service).

New backdrop project just in time for our Christmas party activities

Kiddos getting their new Twist t-shirts!

And thank you for praying! While we were gone, Brayan (and Pris on Saturdays) held the fort down faithfully along with some visiting pastor friends, and we even had several newcomers on Sunday mornings.

While in Ohio - teaching kids' church at Heritage (my home church in Westerville)

Goals for the year include: being a bit less busy and pressing into Jesus. Delegating and empowering others is on the list as well. It looks like we’ll have a few visiting interns to serve, so we’re looking forward to that!

Thank you for your kindness to us and faithfulness to Him!  When you remember us, please pray that we’ll move according to His voice.

Happy 2023!! In all that is to come we rest assured He is with us and is for us!

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...
