Whirlwind months

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Romans 8:32
Cutting the cake in celebration of ONE YEAR of Kids' Club Twist, Tulpetlac (Ecatepec)
(Four other Twist clubs continue to meet weekly)

What a wild couple of months it's been: baptisms, a trip to Ohio, a new school year... I'll try to summarize. In all the ups and downs, we praise God that He is our source, our life, our salvation!

July:

In addition to celebrating our one-year anniversary of Kids' Club Twist (Tulpetlac), we were also thrilled to host our second baptisms at Crece! Each one has a story. But for space I'll just share this: Ian, the young man in the back, said that since being baptized he feels life has meaning.

The eight "baptizees" took classes about what it means to be baptized. We asked each one a series of questions when in the water - the first being: Why do you want to be baptized? It was so encouraging to hear their sincere professions of faith.

Record attendance that day - family and friends of some of those being baptized.

Other July news - kids finishing their school year, planning for our absence (coordinating with the Crece and Twist), nights of kids' ministry in a neighboring city, speaking at a marriage seminar, a small birthday party for Kai...

...and then traveling to Ohio!

What sweet cousin and grandparent time (sibling time for me, too) packed full of fun activities. It was an amazing gift and miracle- a joy to have time with so many friends and family. Thank you to those of you we got to see at Heritage  :) It's very dear to also have a church family.

Evening of sharing at Heritage Christian Church

August brought wonders of Ohio and Michigan summer and the transition back to Mexico (the kids all cried when we got back 😭). School supplies galore and registration were more than enough to keep us on our toes, plus I started teaching English conversation two days a week at their school.

Xau's been diligently planning Sundays, Thursday nights and Saturday Twist as well as other trainings/teachings... yes, a lot, but we're persevering - expectant to see God work as we try to get out of the way.

Love and thanks to all of you.

If you'd like to partner with us in any way, we'd be honored. We are continually support raising. Here is our online giving link:

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...
