Sticks and stones

...apart from Me you can do nothing.  - John 15:5

A sweet outing with Aunt Yaz for her birthday

This month I hit a wall - a wall of stress and strife. It’s no coincidence this all came in the same month of celebrating Crece’s (church plant) one year.

All the feelings and questions of - is it worth it? Is the work really being fruitful? Are we doing it right? Along with an over-full schedule running kids to school at 6 am, teaching two days a week, etc. I just came to my wit’s end, and then to my knees before the Father. His Word, never-failing reminded me of His one counsel: “Just be with Me.”

All the rest comes into perspective. Everything changes when we heed that simple, life-changing invitation to guard our time with Him.

So we've resolved anew to advocate renewal in our home, to be ever-more intentional about unity and quality time with the Father.  Pray along with us that we can live out His heart - taking whatever decisions necessary to be obedient.  A post-it on my desk reads: Less human activity, more Spirit sensitivity.

Here are some shots from the month -

One of my favorite moments - arriving to church and hearing the prayers of these saints before service.

Brayan (far left) has become the Crece youth leader- meeting at least every two weeks! Debbie has gone back to Chile, but she was also a big part of starting this group. (This was their outing to the movies.)

A great turn out for the six-session "Passing the Torch" training seminar for children's workers. They were very receptive and thankful for the time. The host church requested a second seminar in December.

Pictured here our beloved Judith (Twist Kids' Club leader in a place called Chalco) and her husband, Ciro. Unite with us in prayer for God to answer their prayer to be able to start a family.

Yazna came to preach about the unreached

September 15th (Mexican Independence Day) celebration at Twist was a lot of fun

One of the Thursday night Genesis studies. *One step we're taking - delegating two Thursdays a month and at least two Saturdays to Crece members

Big accomplishment for Grace this month: potty training!

Thank you for so faithfully rooting us on, praying, supporting, giving, sowing and loving on us.  Truly, thank you for being such an amazing backing. We couldn't do it without you.

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...

A Man of Faith

“and we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬    Juan Jaime Bueno: January 21, 1948- January 24, 2026  Xaume’s dad parted suddenly for his home with the Lord. Though we had seen a steep decline in his health and mobility, we didn’t know it would come this quickly. We honor his life as a man of faith, who treasured the Word, intercession, spiritual warfare and worship. He loved to laugh and keep up with the news. A dear friend to Xau, a father who loved him “as his own,” we will miss his regaños (scolding )  and hugs .  He loved his grandkids, and was very proud of each of them. We were proud of them as they helped unload the Operation Christmas Child boxes this December. The Crece team facilitated three outreach events where kids and families received this free gift from the Father and heard about the greatest gift: a relationship with Him.  La Palma outreach Zumpango Christmas Child Outreach...
