November - December

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good;  His faithful love endures forever. Psalm 106:1

With all that's been going on I totally forgot to post!

Here's a November - December quick read:

Highlights:

  • Day of the Dead outreach
  • Mom and Dad visit Mexico!
  • Xau and Kai ministry trip to Guatemala
  • Christmas dinner party at Crece
Other news:
  • Suffered a miscarriage (9 weeks)
  • Ended English teaching  (too much of a time commitment)
  • School switch for kids  (due to distance)
  • Kitchen remodeling
Day of the Dead outreach at Crece! The youth did a great job with the black-light theater (two choreographies and a story). Three groups of trick-or-treating kids and families came through and got to hear the gospel message.

Mom and Dad at Twist Kids' Club! The kids were intrigued by their English. Dad told the Thanksgiving story and they brought a parachute which was a big hit.

Sweet time with Grandma and Grandpa

Don't worry, Kai did get to spend a few days with Grandma and Grandpa before they left - including a lovely Thanksgiving meal with Xau's parents Tere & Jaime

Dad sharing at church on Sunday - he did great! Mom shared a Word as well as she led us through a Psalm all together and they prayed a beautiful and powerful blessing over Crece.

Meanwhile, Xau and Kai were in Guatemala City and the Hearts in Action Ranch in the Peten jungle.  Here, ministering at the To the Great Commission training seminar for children and youth ministry workers. And yes, he got to spend some time with Mario and Suzanne and many of the other HIA team members.

Before Xau got back, I had the privilege of sharing with these precious ones from a league of churches that united for a Christmas celebration.  Could really sense God's presence in the worship time and we had fun learning through a series of experiment object lessons.

Twist Christmas festivities! We'll start back up the 6th of January. Today, Xau and Liam picked up the Operation Christmas Child boxes which we'll give out then.

Christmas dinner and music at Crece. It was so encouraging to see people bring their families and celebrate together.  Praying for each of them to truly commit to walking with Christ and the joy that it is to follow Him.

🌟🌟🌟
Thank you for sowing into this work. Every day is a struggle to stay focused and listening to the Holy Spirit. Pray that we can ever press in!!

Love to you always, and may His grace keep astounding you this Christmas and New Year! 🎉

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...
