Heaviness lifted

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord proclaim that He has REDEEMED THEM from the hand of the foe, and has gathered them from the lands- from the east and the west, from the north and the south.
Psalm 107:1-3

Imara takes the step of baptism! Although she admits it was a little scary, her radiant face afterward reflects the joy of following Jesus! She is the 12th to be baptized since we started in September of 22.

Glory to God!
This month we witnessed God's power of freedom for one of the youth - she was ministered to and filled with the Holy Spirit! We started back up Thursday evening Bible study - looking now at apologetics/religions; have had an increase in attendance at Twist Kids' Club, and a mom and her kids from Twist have started coming on Sundays to church :)

Xau traveled north at the beginning of the month to facilitate a teacher's training seminar in San Luis Potosi.

Couple's dinner! Thankfully 11 couples came and had a time to eat, hear good music and receive the Word of God challenging them specifically to defend against pride and selfishness that destroy marriages.

Looking back on this month, we've faced a lot of opposition - mostly manifesting in our physical health (and hence emotional). Didn't really realize why it was happening at the time, but in hindsight is clear.  As there is breakthrough in the Spirit, there is pushback.
Kids enjoying the warm February weather :)

Healthwise: Xaume has been having high blood pressure - and is now taking action to be more fit, eat better and temporarily take medication.  It really had been affecting his emotional state, too.  I have been battling all month with my eyes - had a severe allergic reaction to something (never have been allergic to anything in my life), bad swelling twice now, lots of irritation, itching and redness around the eye.  Praying, praying, praying and thanking God for our healing! (Grace also came down with a fever for several days but is well now, praise God).

Town outreach in Pachuca at the site of a starting church

Definitely feeling some relief now - and having identified the spiritual battle declaring covering by His blood 🙌

Teacher training in Chalco - in March they celebrate seven years of Twist Kids' club!

Missionary friends Joel and Patty shared at church on Sunday. They worked for three years in a remote ethnic group in Northern Mexico (Raramuri) and were miraculously able to plant a native church!

Coming up!
  • Heritage team comes the end of March! Please pray for preparations on both ends, God's glory manifest, continued covering and a time of encounter with Him. (First week of April we'll be housing another group from northern Mexico).
  • Pray for our Crece team to continue to be fortified in the Spirit (we're having monthly meetings)
  • Combined youth group meeting coming up on Saturday (2nd)
  • Protection over the physical space in Ecatepec (a neighbor reported hearing people jumping the fence)
  • As always, to keep our eyes on Him, be vigilant, and guard our time with Him and as a family/couple

Groups getting into the Word on a Sunday morning

Thank you so much for your partnership and prayers! We cannot thank you enough. Just knowing that we're not alone and that we have a whole family of faith backing us makes all the difference. Thank you. Bless you. Keep up the wonderful journey. Each of YOU is being Christ to those around you.

Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—  making the most of the time, because the days are evil.    -Ephesians 5:15-16 God gave me a word for each month this year and February's word was TIME.  The goal: listening AND OBEYING His direction for how to spend time. He knows best - so yielding to His Word has been a challenge since I often think I know what needs to be done and when. But it's so refreshing when we do obey and get to experience His perfect wisdom!   Pray for these ones to continue to grow in their knowledge and walk with God! This past month... Crece Church Plant News:  Two women (mother and daughter) were baptized - expressing their desire to follow Christ completely.  Despite all her nerves and wanting to back out, Imara taught her first time on a Sunday morning! She was baptized last February. (Brayan also preached this month - we continue to encourage ones to let themselves be stretched and u...

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

Pressed

“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ It’s been a tough month. Good things but also some heavy pushback, spiritually. I’ve been prayerfully aware of the weight of this area we’ve targeted to minister in: Ecatepec. The name literally means “hill of the god of the air.” We know there’s quite a stronghold of the enemy in the region. And though it often feels like we’re working a pickax, we’re thankful  that His praise is the constant. And for the promise that we WILL NOT BE CRUSHED.  Highlights:  Worship night at Karina’s  home  (just two blocks from Crece church)  this Saturday night!  It was a great  time for the young people to come together, have some good hang out time and then mov...
