Encouragement

If then there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by thinking the same way, having the same love, sharing the same feelings, focusing on one goal.

This month we've been able to get a glimpse of what God is doing - despite the fact that we often turn to each other and wonder, "Is this really worth it?"
Baptisms were a celebration - seeing four people testify to the fact that they've said "Yes" to following Jesus.  Twist Kids' Club Ecatepec celebrated its' second year anniversary, and our preparations for traveling to the States created space for others to step in and practice leadership (pray for their unity :))

Above: Valeria told us God had already put it on her heart to be baptized, so when she heard we were doing them on Sunday, she knew it was time!

Below: Left to right: Valeria, Maria, Uriel, Carlos. Maria and her son Uriel had started coming to Twist in November with Maria's grandchildren Reychel and Neymar. Then, a Crece believer, José invited them to come to church as well, they began attending in February on Sundays!

After talking to Maria the Sunday after her baptism, she shared more of her story.  Fourteen years ago her brother was killed, and she was ANGRY with God. Many people over the years invited her to all kinds of churches. When José extended the invite to Twist she said the first time was a definitive "No" for her. The second time she reluctantly accepted, and said that as she started coming, she realized she'd been wrong about God.  He did a great work in healing her heart.
As we talked, she expressed just how happy she felt, a huge weight off her shoulders and truly identifying as "new" after coming to Christ - so much so, she confessed, that she left church after her baptism in tears of joy.

Two years. Two years ago on the first Saturday of July we announced at an outreach in the park (in front of the space) that we'd be holding a free kids' club for the community.  Kids have come and gone, grown a ton!, gone through much, had different teachers and volunteers...but through it all, our goal and prayer is that they KNOW Jesus - that each Saturday, they have an opportunity to hear God's Word, draw closer to Him, be loved on, build healthy friendships, have fun! and ultimately know that they will always have a Father in heaven who longs to have a relationship with them.
Kids and many of the teachers/volunteers: Karina, Luz, Monse, Maria, Karla, Joce, José, Brayan

Youth leader Brayan (far left) and the group on an outing to a trampoline park :) Pray for them to continually encounter Jesus every day, experience the joy of following Him, to be equipped with God's Word and able to stand against the lies of the enemy - and for wisdom for Brayan as he walks with them.

Sunday morning at Crece - getting into the Word together. Pray for us as we listen to God's leading in discipleship, raising leaders and delegating ministry work. We are praying for a family (and in the future, many families) to take the step of hosting meeting times in their homes - reaching out to their relatives, friends and acquaintances.

A Zoom call we were invited to share with these couples on married life. An honor just to give some practical, Bible-based counsel and be transparent about the joys and challenges of matrimony!

Our babies! finishing their school year at Grace Point. School year in Mexico ends mid July and starts the first week of September. Keep them in your prayers, too :)

Praising God for getting to see some of you! Thank you for those who were able to come to our evening of sharing at Heritage.  My favorite part was getting to hear from the teams. Thank you for your hearts for Jesus and for how that includes Mexico.

God bless you and keep you! Thank you for being part of His Body.  We're honored to journey together.  Thanks for loving on us.  All the glory to God.

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...
