The One

"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord, God "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."  - Revelation 1:8
As we near the year's end, we're expectant on HIM! Prayerful - asking that He continue to do what only HE can do.

Praise God, the Choose Life lessons went well 🙌. The base for the skit this year was Luke 23:32-43 - Jesus between the two criminals. The kids took it to heart and even some of the actors (below, right) were very touched as they portrayed the scene.  "Today you will be with me in paradise..."

AND...XAU IS OFFICIALLY 40!
We got to celebrate him in some special ways this month :)

Another highlight! Brayan (below) had the God-given idea to have a basketball contest out on the courts in front of Crece church space.  He was super nervous about how it would go, but it was a GREAT turn out. It was really a very hands-on way to connect with the neighborhood and serve them - providing an outlet for fun and way to be together.  Plus, we got to play for all the participants at the end.

Afterward, a rapper friend of his did a presentation. Even though the crowds had gone, it was a time of encouragement for the church (and a couple kids from the block who stuck around).

We got away to the hills for a day with Xau's mom and sister :) Good to get some fresh air.

Twist Kids' Club Chalco invited us to share at their teacher training.  They may be few in number, but were very eager to learn and were excited to put these strategies into practice.  Please keep praying for God's covering over them, and specifically for leader Judith.  We're asking for God's intervention for unity among believers. There has been some tough opposition towards her with conflict and rumors.
At Crece church, we're continually working on delegating. This month, José (below) taught one Sunday. He is a testimony of one who started coming because he brought his daughter to Twist.  Coming from a Catholic alcohol-bound background, he had a hunger for the Word but, at the time was muddled with Jehovah's Witness teachings.  Now, he testifies to how he learned to ask God to speak to him every time he reads scripture. Please pray for him and his family. His wife who has wanted nothing to do with the gospel, his son Lalo and daughter Natalia.
Karina (below) is another testimony. She's been an essential part of the work. Even though she's never worked with kids before, it's the area in which we felt to encourage her (last Sunday there were more kids at church than on Saturday at Twist!).  God's really confronting her on loving on her family - despite the spiritual battle in the home. We pray covering over her and a special anointing to move in His supernatural grace.

Thank you so much for staying posted.  And for using this blog as a prayer guide.  It's a constant battle in the Spirit, but we are THANKFUL that He is the One True God - able to break through all the darkness and oppression. Thank you for being a key part of this. We are a BODY. We praise God for your support and love.
And...Happy belated Thanksgiving!

Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—  making the most of the time, because the days are evil.    -Ephesians 5:15-16 God gave me a word for each month this year and February's word was TIME.  The goal: listening AND OBEYING His direction for how to spend time. He knows best - so yielding to His Word has been a challenge since I often think I know what needs to be done and when. But it's so refreshing when we do obey and get to experience His perfect wisdom!   Pray for these ones to continue to grow in their knowledge and walk with God! This past month... Crece Church Plant News:  Two women (mother and daughter) were baptized - expressing their desire to follow Christ completely.  Despite all her nerves and wanting to back out, Imara taught her first time on a Sunday morning! She was baptized last February. (Brayan also preached this month - we continue to encourage ones to let themselves be stretched and u...

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

Pressed

“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ It’s been a tough month. Good things but also some heavy pushback, spiritually. I’ve been prayerfully aware of the weight of this area we’ve targeted to minister in: Ecatepec. The name literally means “hill of the god of the air.” We know there’s quite a stronghold of the enemy in the region. And though it often feels like we’re working a pickax, we’re thankful  that His praise is the constant. And for the promise that we WILL NOT BE CRUSHED.  Highlights:  Worship night at Karina’s  home  (just two blocks from Crece church)  this Saturday night!  It was a great  time for the young people to come together, have some good hang out time and then mov...
