Grace Gift

“For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — not from works, so that no one can boast.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬

Yearly hygiene care workshop at Twist Ecatepec ❤️
What a promise! A pure miracle. That He would choose us and choose to save us through GRACE. This is the good news. This is the reason we exist. To rejoice in and share that grace.
One of the greatest gifts this month was just a couple days ago. You may remember from former posts that at the start of the year we launched a once-a-month Twist outreach in a patio of a home - this is that home! We had the privilege of giving them their first Bibles. We got to sit around their table and read each one, verse by verse, from John 1. Xau led us in asking questions about the passage (DBS-style) and then gave background on its significance. Afterward, we invited them to pray aloud with us, acknowledging Jesus as God and asking Him to take the throne of their hearts. Pray that this conviction will go deep and transform this family. As a church, we’ve committed to continue these visits once a month, asking God to draw in the two sons and others to receive His message.
Despite minor logistical setbacks, the women’s retreat was a success! Sixteen of us came together to spend the day hearing from God through His Word, share meals, get in some moves with Zumba and even be pampered with facials. For two neighbor ladies (below 1) of our host, Daly (below 2), it was their first time experiencing anything like this, and the first retreat for several others. Six of us from Crece church plant led the workshops, which was especially impacting for Karla (above) to whom God spoke directly as she prepared her topic of our identity as His daughters.

It’s been quite a month for Xau as he spent a weekend ministering in Chiapas (southern border) with churches that have begun four kids’ clubs in the past months, taught an all day Kids’ Ministry training seminar at a church here in the city, has been doing weekly follow-up zooms for the church hosting a kids’ club in San Luis Potosí (north-central), teaching a youth ministry class at a Bible institute, etc…

Spotlight this month on Janet (below): she’s been serving with us as a one-to-two-day-a-week intern for over a year and has recently been making visits to all the kids’ clubs - going over expectations, creating ID tags, teaching and offering support. She's very administrative and does lesson development. We plan to delegate more responsibilities (and increase support) as she finishes her teaching degree. Hector (below 2) and Brayan (below 3) continue to serve faithfully week in and week out. And Pris officially starts full-time this week!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read & look through this. Just knowing that we have someone rooting for us and lifting us up makes a world of difference.  Please pray for supernatural wisdom and revelation as we seek HIM and His move for this coming year. May it all be for His glory!

Bless you!!

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...
