Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2

Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!
This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.
Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones.
Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.
Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after starting college in 2024, she pulled away and began struggling in her walk with God.  After a time, she responded to His drawing her heart back. Originally planning to study law, she's thankful for how God used Twist to help her discover her passion for teaching. Now she dreams of starting a Christian school.
Jocelyn, reserved and somewhat aloof when she started serving at Twist, has become an excellent teacher; she's matured greatly and serves enthusiastically.
Last weekend in San Luis Potosí (about 6 hours north). This church began a Twist club in March, so we did a training seminar for children's workers/parents, spent a morning at Twist (below), facilitated an outreach in a community where they're looking to open another Twist, and Xau preached at the three services on Sunday.  We did make it into a mini-getaway and the kids loved the AirBnB.

Outreach at the "canchas" (courts)
Finally, we'd ask specifically for prayer for Kai.  He was diagnosed early this year with mouth-breathing. The next step is to have a sleep study done to evaluate apnea.  Most probably he'll need to have a tonsillectomy-adenoidectomy.  Costs for these procedures at the treating private physician's are outrageous so we're looking at other options. If you'd like to give specifically towards this, please let us know.
Homeschooling is going better! We've finally adapted more to the new setup :)

 Other giving opportunities include:
- Airfare for a Twist leader attending To the Great Commission training in Guatemala
- Other various healthcare costs
- Staff and intern fund
- Van for outreaches and Twist
- US travel fund

Thanks again so much for reading and being there for us. We are blessed.

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...
