November

...Let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith...
Hebrews 12:1-2

So fun to see my friend Hallie from Asbury as she and her husband visited Mexico City!

Just to note the pride in Mexico for Day of the Dead - if you can tell, the whole orchestra has skull face paint.

But of course, we were giving it a different twist with "Choose Life."  Here below, a musician friend of ours, Cesar Castro, recorded a song just for us based on the verse we use for the lesson (Deut. 30:19).

Later that day, we shared the "Choose Life" lesson at a park in an area called Ecatepec (north of the city). Partnering with the church, Jesus Christ King of Judah, we were thankful that many who went out for candy received the message of life in Jesus!

A very special moment this month:  Liam meeting missionary Aunt Yazna!!  It has been a blessing to be able to spend some time with her before she goes back to Peru.

It's also been a month for quite a bit of filming and editing.  Pray with us that by engaging the media, His Word impacts more lives!

For example this week, our neighbor mentioned to Xau that he had been watching the videos and really liked them. Even though we've shared briefly with them before, God is using these seeds to grow His Truth in their hearts.

Friends of ours Moi & Silvia are amazing singers.  They wrote a song for the "Choose Life" lesson as well and came out to record it with us.  Here's the link to their video (on the YouTube channel you can watch all the videos - just search "Corazones en Accion Mexico")

Choose Life Song

Little truffle baby is pulling himself up now! And just a few days ago started to crawl!!  It's definitely a time for adjusting as we sow into his precious life.

Many fathers of the faith here in Mexico and from abroad shared at a conference this month called Origins / Revival. We were refreshed and challenged by the series of teachings and corporate worship.

We weren't able to attend the To the Great Commission training in Guatemala this year, but we helped these two students attend!  Special thanks to those who supported their trips and airfare!

Here we are teaching a second all-day training session with Rhema's teachers.  The focus: ministering to babies and preschoolers!

Often Sunday school teachers view time with these age groups as mostly taking care of them and playing - which are important parts!  We also believe the Holy Spirit can minister to them from the time they are conceived, and it's our responsibility to engage the time we have with them intentionally.

And yes! We celebrated Thanksgiving : )  Since I became a part of this Mexican family, we began a new tradition of celebrating this special day together.

Thank you so much for connecting with us and reading about what's been happening. Please keep praying with us for God's wisdom and for open doors according to His will! Also for travels as we leave tomorrow for ministry in San Luis Potosi.

We send our love!

Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—  making the most of the time, because the days are evil.    -Ephesians 5:15-16 God gave me a word for each month this year and February's word was TIME.  The goal: listening AND OBEYING His direction for how to spend time. He knows best - so yielding to His Word has been a challenge since I often think I know what needs to be done and when. But it's so refreshing when we do obey and get to experience His perfect wisdom!   Pray for these ones to continue to grow in their knowledge and walk with God! This past month... Crece Church Plant News:  Two women (mother and daughter) were baptized - expressing their desire to follow Christ completely.  Despite all her nerves and wanting to back out, Imara taught her first time on a Sunday morning! She was baptized last February. (Brayan also preached this month - we continue to encourage ones to let themselves be stretched and u...

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

Pressed

“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ It’s been a tough month. Good things but also some heavy pushback, spiritually. I’ve been prayerfully aware of the weight of this area we’ve targeted to minister in: Ecatepec. The name literally means “hill of the god of the air.” We know there’s quite a stronghold of the enemy in the region. And though it often feels like we’re working a pickax, we’re thankful  that His praise is the constant. And for the promise that we WILL NOT BE CRUSHED.  Highlights:  Worship night at Karina’s  home  (just two blocks from Crece church)  this Saturday night!  It was a great  time for the young people to come together, have some good hang out time and then mov...
