He says,
"Be still and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
Psalm 46:10

We made it a priority to get away this month for a small retreat - even if for just one night.  While the boys stayed with Xau´s parents, we had about 24 ours at this little AirBnB just outside the city. It was a quiet place to talk, pray, read and think about the year and the year to come.

Twist Ixtapaluca

Street outreach for Day of the Dead - near Twist Valle de Chalco

The Twist Kids´ Clubs (4) were busy preparing and hosting their "Choose Life"outreaches at the beginning of the month.  Pastor Braulio and two leaders (Aaron and Angélica) from Twist Kids´ Club in Oaxaca flew out late this month to take the To the Great Commission Training in Guatemala!

Kai´s presentation at church was this month! It was a special moment to celebrate together.

After starting a class at Rhema Bible Institute, Xau headed to Guatemala where he´ll help teach and coordinate at the last week of the To the Great Commission Training.  (Thank you to those who donated to cover his travel expenses!)
While in Guatemala city, he recorded an interview with the children´s leader of an influential church.  Both the children´s and youth pastor express gratitude for Mario´s/Hearts in Action´s vision sown over 20 years ago in their ministries.

Speaking of interviews, we finally posted the Matt Liston interview to our Youtube channel! To check it out, click below (it´s in English, of course):

Thank you for taking the time to read and view the blog!  Help us pray into the new year as we look towards fundraising for three big goals:

1. Strengthening and sustainability for Twist Kids´ Clubs
2. Growing the Hearts in Action Mexico Team
3. Publishing a manual of children´s discipleship lessons

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...
