And I realized that there is an advantage to wisdom over folly, like the advantage of light over darkness.
Ecclesiastes 2:13
Mexico's Day of the Dead, now fused with Halloween, has become one of the darkest times of the year. Schools, plazas, catholic parishes (above), etc. adorn altars which the deceased "visit." It's just one evidence of common syncretist culture and beliefs.
Hence, Choose Life lessons were born. Years ago we started writing outreach curriculum that focuses on the joy of life and, more fully, life in Christ. We want kids and families to conserve the excitement of celebration, turning their eyes to their Creator and eternal life.
After much writing,
planning, purchasing, recording, etc., this year’s lesson was ready. October and early November were packed with
teaching the lesson at different sites.
Our friends Ale y Lalo came along to help with the lesson as well as two
other friends, Gaby and Luis. Faithful
Priscila, team member and friend, spent hours in preparation and support.

| Welcome stations where the kids can play with Legos, color or build their Lego person |
 |
| Narrative story that our Lego friend Emmet (costume) acts out |
 |
| Prayer and ministry/response time |
 |
| Karaoke-style sing-along for the memory verse (Gaby and Luis recorded the song!) |
 |
| Lego-building contests and their applications |
As you can see, this year we took on the LEGO theme! Lego logo, Lego man (costume), Lego coloring page and craft, Legos to play with, Lego contests, etc. Then, of course, we tie in Biblical truths and applications like the importance of following the Lego instruction manuals. God’s Word, the Bible is our instruction manual for life, but we often leave it off to the side.

| Two new choreographies for everyone to do with the worship songs |

This weekend we did the lesson in San Luis Potosi (5 hours north). Here below is an alley where several young people from the church started a kids' outreach several years ago after attending To the Great Commission training in Guatemala. The group grew into a church which rents a space a few blocks away. It's a rough area of the downtown where God is growing up a witness for His Name.
We're glad the busy season is over. We do pray that those seeds of truth sprout and produce fruit. And that teachers and pastors can take some of the new ideas to challenge them in taking kids' ministry more seriously.
Thank you for being part of the team this season and always. The power of your prayers, support and love, even from a distance, mean the world to us.
Join us in praying for wisdom and revelation as this year comes to a close and we seek His heart for steps to come.
