Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise— making the most of the time, because the days are evil.

-Ephesians 5:15-16

God gave me a word for each month this year and February's word was TIME.  The goal: listening AND OBEYING His direction for how to spend time. He knows best - so yielding to His Word has been a challenge since I often think I know what needs to be done and when. But it's so refreshing when we do obey and get to experience His perfect wisdom!

Pray for these ones to continue to grow in their knowledge and walk with God!

This past month...
Crece Church Plant News:
  • Two women (mother and daughter) were baptized - expressing their desire to follow Christ completely.
  • Despite all her nerves and wanting to back out, Imara taught her first time on a Sunday morning! She was baptized last February. (Brayan also preached this month - we continue to encourage ones to let themselves be stretched and used by God.)
  • Very first DBS (Discovery Bible Study) time at Karina's house! We've been praying for this for many months. Finally, one Sunday after church we spontaneously invited several of their young friends into the living room and looked at four verses from Psalm 34. Now our goal is to go back once each month.
  • Thursday nights reactivated on-site at Crece following the DBS model - we want those who come to see that they too can disciple those around them, and this is a very useable strategy
  • Xau and I went on two home visits - meeting people in their homes and praying with them

Please keep praying for the kids, youth and adults at Crece and in the area, and specifically for unity in the Body.

Twist Kids' Club news:
  • Two new clubs kicked off this month in Chiapas (southern state). Former collaborator Jesús Cruz is overseeing the clubs as he has worked in the region over the years.
  • In Twist Ecatepec (Tulpetlac), the coordinator Joce is starting to get others involved - not just being there, but actually teaching parts of the lesson.
  • Plus, Brayan and Hector tag-teamed the second Twist outreach at the new site (Las Palmas) - just a few minutes away from Crece church plant.
  • Xau, Brayan and I led a training for the children's leaders and pastors at the church for Twist Aragón. It was an encouraging time, plus all our kids played together for hours :)

Hector is getting immersed in hands-on training! Here at the new outreach site teaching the kids' lesson (Below Brayan leading kids in the choreographies and welcome activities.)

Other news...
  • Specific support-raising initiatives this year include: funding for staff & interns, publishing and travel (one we're planning is a family mission trip to minister with Yazna, Xau's sister in the Peruvian Amazon)
  • Amounts:
    • Cost of current collaborators = raise 550 monthly
    • First full-time staff member = raise 700 USD monthly
    • Publishing/printing fund = raise 5,000 USD by end of 2025
    • Travel fund total goal = raise 10,000 USD
  • If you or someone you know would be interested in partnering in any of these fields, or otherwise, please reach out - we'd be happy to talk through any questions

Family news...
  • Liam turns nine the fifth of March. So we had a birthday gathering with three of his friends. Plus, I got to take him to his first concert! (Un Corazón, a Christian band that just won a Grammy, played at the National Auditorium. The night we went we got to worship along with another 9,000 people!)
  • Kai learned to ride a bike! We took the training wheels off…He rode and rode that day.
  • Grace brushed her own hair for the first time! (Now one of her favorite things but not as favorite as putting on lipstick.)
One of Liam's new favorite things: boba (Bubble tea)

Thank you for loving on us. We are constantly amazed at how God works through you.  Thanks to each of you for your kind words, generous giving, time spent, heart-felt prayers and listening/reading.  We're honored.  May He keep filling you up every day.

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

Pressed

“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ It’s been a tough month. Good things but also some heavy pushback, spiritually. I’ve been prayerfully aware of the weight of this area we’ve targeted to minister in: Ecatepec. The name literally means “hill of the god of the air.” We know there’s quite a stronghold of the enemy in the region. And though it often feels like we’re working a pickax, we’re thankful  that His praise is the constant. And for the promise that we WILL NOT BE CRUSHED.  Highlights:  Worship night at Karina’s  home  (just two blocks from Crece church)  this Saturday night!  It was a great  time for the young people to come together, have some good hang out time and then mov...
