March 2020

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.  Those who know Your name trust in You because You have not abandoned those who seek You, Yahweh.
-Psalm 9:9-10

Just realizing this picture is good for March due to the clovers hinting at St. Patrick´s Day ;)
What times we are living! Thank you, Father, that YOU never change.  You´re always true, faithful, trustworthy, steadfast, unchanging!

Thankfully, we did manage to squeeze in the Passing the Torch Seminar at the beginning of this month before things started really being affected by COVID-19. Yes it was less attended than we anticipated, but we were thankful to have the turnout we did - over 80 children´s teachers and volunteers.

Home-working with Liam! It´s been an adjustment for all of us, but it is cool to be a part of what he´s learning.  He even has online Zoom time with his class and teachers this week.  Pray for him to have peace and to be able to focus with the new dynamic.  (And for us, too!)

Trying to make the most of time here at home - we posted two new videos to the Youtube channel after many months.  Xau´s is on tips for preparing your children´s class and mine is a song I translated into Spanish.  So...we´re hoping to do more recording during this time as well as writing lessons / material!  Pray that we can have good time management and to be flexible at the same time :)

Friends of ours, Lalo and Ale continue their church services and invited us to preach Sunday evening.  We´re thrilled to see their new mission taking off - challenging the saints and reaching new believers.  Praise God there were a few people who received the Lord that night!

I just had to put a picture of Malakai.  He´s at such a cute stage - saying new words all the time, more active and mischievous than ever, and, he loves to read!

Thank you for keeping up!  Praying for each of you to experience God in a deeper way this season, to be refreshed in Him and renewed in faith.  All our love.

His Imagination

What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind -- God prepared this for those who love Him.  - 1 Corinthians 2:9 It’s been a month of lots of emotions. From baptisms, to celebrating three years of Twist Kids’ Club Ecatepec,  to delegating leadership to some of our team, to kids finishing the school year, to travel (the kids and I to Ohio and Xau to ministry trips)…  The constant through it all is that He is our Source. He just keeps reminding me: “Just be with Me.”  We weren’t sure that anyone was going to be baptized at our semi-annual date, but were so excited to see three young men say "yes" to the invitation. More than the baptism itself, it's the fact that they've chosen to follow Christ. Pictured here is Manuel. He’s been reading the Bible for himself and is really getting it. Please pray for their constant protection and growth. Praise God for Brayan and Hector who have specifically sown into these young lives.  Yotzan, C...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

A Man of Faith

“and we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬    Juan Jaime Bueno: January 21, 1948- January 24, 2026  Xaume’s dad parted suddenly for his home with the Lord. Though we had seen a steep decline in his health and mobility, we didn’t know it would come this quickly. We honor his life as a man of faith, who treasured the Word, intercession, spiritual warfare and worship. He loved to laugh and keep up with the news. A dear friend to Xau, a father who loved him “as his own,” we will miss his regaños (scolding )  and hugs .  He loved his grandkids, and was very proud of each of them. We were proud of them as they helped unload the Operation Christmas Child boxes this December. The Crece team facilitated three outreach events where kids and families received this free gift from the Father and heard about the greatest gift: a relationship with Him.  La Palma outreach Zumpango Christmas Child Outreach...
