July 2021

Lord, your faithful love reaches to heaven,

Your faithfulness to the clouds.

Psalm 36:5

Even though Xau and I just tested positive for COVID, we are trying to see the bright side of things. On Wednesday, after I lost my sense of taste and smell we went to get tested. Praise God, we are doing alright and hunkering down at home.  Please pray  for quick recovery and lots of grace for each other as we wait out this quarantine :) .

Of course, this changes our travel plans, so our Ohio visit will have to wait until September! But, thankfully we were able to make the flight changes very economically.

I'll post a few shots from this very busy month!

We have an intern! Jesús, a young man from Oaxaca, is staying with us (in the apartment renovation from last year!) and helping with all sorts of projects and accompanying Xaume to all different ministry events. He's been here all of July and will now stay all of August. Thank you!

Liam "graduated" from Kindergarten this month!  He'll be moving on to first grade in the fall, and Kai will start.

Xau and Jesus went to Toluca (neighboring state capital) to minister a children's outreach.

Three days of kids' lessons for these little ones in Pachuca (a different neighboring state capital) We sent teams two evenings and Xau went the last day for the close.

Huge home-project of pouring concrete for the entry. (Eventually new gates will go in.) Ciro hard at work! Xau and Jesus hauled TONS of dirt.

A half-day training seminar at Grace Community Church encouraging ones to embrace children's ministry as well as give them some tools.

Sweet Malakai turned THREE! We had a nice little gathering with the family just a week before symptoms started. Praying Jesus' covering.

Here I've just highlighted some of the month's happenings. It's been busy. Probably "too busy," I told Xaume. Thanking God for His grace and praying for wisdom and discernment for when to say "yes" and when to say "NO." :)

Thank you for being there for us in these moments of stretching faith. We love and bless you in Jesus' Name!
Awaiting September, expectant in the meantime as well.

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

Treasure

Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7 Did anyone see that recent headline about a diver who stumbled upon nearly 50,000 bronze coins? The team also noted fragments of broken pottery.  I thought of this verse - imagining that "treasure" being held in those old earthen vessels. That's the beauty here.  Despite our fragility, God chooses to deposit in us the eternal riches of His Holy Spirit!  Praises: Renovations underway! This room had horrible moisture running through it due to inadequate roofing. Now, with proper paneling, the leakage will be eliminated. After remodeling adjustments for the adjacent room, Hector (full-time intern) will have a bedroom and this taller room will serve as our first church office! It was quite a project, but we're thankful to have a space for him to move into in the next week or two.  The beginning of September we celebrated Crece church's three ye...

A Man of Faith

“and we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬    Juan Jaime Bueno: January 21, 1948- January 24, 2026  Xaume’s dad parted suddenly for his home with the Lord. Though we had seen a steep decline in his health and mobility, we didn’t know it would come this quickly. We honor his life as a man of faith, who treasured the Word, intercession, spiritual warfare and worship. He loved to laugh and keep up with the news. A dear friend to Xau, a father who loved him “as his own,” we will miss his regaños (scolding )  and hugs .  He loved his grandkids, and was very proud of each of them. We were proud of them as they helped unload the Operation Christmas Child boxes this December. The Crece team facilitated three outreach events where kids and families received this free gift from the Father and heard about the greatest gift: a relationship with Him.  La Palma outreach Zumpango Christmas Child Outreach...
