Fear: Outta Here

The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom should I FEAR? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom should I be AFRAID?  - Psalm 27:1

Fear...I'd say it's always looking for ways in. Or rather, the enemy is always finding new ways to plant seeds of fear. But IN HIM we have nothing to fear. May He fill us with the strength of His salvation - having that confidence that walking with Him renders fear powerless.

One of the highlights of the month (above):
Out in the country, out of the city, Xau took this amazing team of four to minister to these young ones. The host church had reached out to ask for this time and were very much encouraged and inspired by the way we can dynamically present God's Word.
The most exciting part for Xau and I was that he didn't actually participate in the lesson at all. This was his turn to finally delegate the outreach.  And he was SO proud of how they did. These are the "first fruit" volunteers that have been raised up through the Twist Kids' Club Ecatepec (and Crece church plant). Praise God. Please pray for each of them as they continue in their callings, and that they be fortified IN HIM every day.

The first ever men’s event at Crece! Twenty gents of ranging ages came out to play foosball, grill out and hear what the Word says about being a man. Please pray for these ones to be fortified in their identity and calling and to continue ministering in their homes and community 🙏

Several home arrangement projects lately! Last month, Xau created a space in our downstairs to be the “studio,” where I can start to practice and record.

Now, we carved out a new space for Liam’s room. He’d been sleeping up in a wooden loft under a skylight- but due to noise and rain he would often came down to sleep on the couch. This new space was one of our entry halls - so now we just keep this door locked and use the downstairs entry.

Plus, I’m super happy to have a laundry room again! This space works perfectly for drying clothes (especially this month of the year as it has been our "winter": rain, rain, rain). Though we haven't purchased a new washer-dryer yet, God provided for us to buy a new water heater we've been needing to replace for months!

A couple shots from Covadonga - an empoverished area that Judith and several volunteers have been ministering to via Twist for years. Please lift them up as her longing is to be able to minister to the adults as well. Praying for an open door.

And Pris has been a HUGE help in many ways - including ministering at Twist Ecatepec, visiting the other clubs and teaching kids on Sunday morning once a month. Please keep her in prayer, for strength, vision and specifically her family to encounter Jesus anew.

There's always so much more to say, but I'll leave it at that for now :) Please pray for Xau and I to be unified in the Spirit every day as well as our kids. We are seeking Him as we take steps to follow His lead.  Thank you for sowing into us and into His Kingdom.  All for His glory.

Time

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—  making the most of the time, because the days are evil.    -Ephesians 5:15-16 God gave me a word for each month this year and February's word was TIME.  The goal: listening AND OBEYING His direction for how to spend time. He knows best - so yielding to His Word has been a challenge since I often think I know what needs to be done and when. But it's so refreshing when we do obey and get to experience His perfect wisdom!   Pray for these ones to continue to grow in their knowledge and walk with God! This past month... Crece Church Plant News:  Two women (mother and daughter) were baptized - expressing their desire to follow Christ completely.  Despite all her nerves and wanting to back out, Imara taught her first time on a Sunday morning! She was baptized last February. (Brayan also preached this month - we continue to encourage ones to let themselves be stretched and u...

Persevere!

Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer .   -Romans 12:12 This word hit me hard at the women's retreat we attended at the beginning of the month. After my "I-don't-want-to-suffer" breakdown, God sweetly reminded me of His heart: Rejoice in the love of my salvation! It's not the suffering we're called to, but the perseverance through it to produce in us the joy and privilege of getting to walk WITH Him... And along the way we get to accompany others - praying  that they encounter Him!  Moments like this - even when just a few take look at God's Word - are glimpses of hope. Pray with us for these ones to hunger for more, seeking after Him with all their hearts! Many are facing family difficulties, pursuing false gods (namely, "la muerte"/ saint death), struggling with addictions, violence, apathy, etc. This month we had a couple good times with some of the Twist and Crece church leaders.  Special praise for Karla as she h...

Pressed

“We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ It’s been a tough month. Good things but also some heavy pushback, spiritually. I’ve been prayerfully aware of the weight of this area we’ve targeted to minister in: Ecatepec. The name literally means “hill of the god of the air.” We know there’s quite a stronghold of the enemy in the region. And though it often feels like we’re working a pickax, we’re thankful  that His praise is the constant. And for the promise that we WILL NOT BE CRUSHED.  Highlights:  Worship night at Karina’s  home  (just two blocks from Crece church)  this Saturday night!  It was a great  time for the young people to come together, have some good hang out time and then mov...
