Radiance

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact expression of His nature, sustaining all things BY HIS POWERFUL WORD.

-Hebrews 1:3

May we share in that same reflective quality - radiating His glory as we rest in the sustaining power of His powerful Word!

Through the years we’ve learned so much along the way. To sum up, here are our three focus areas:

  1. Generational outreach: Twist Kids’ Clubs
  2. Equipping: children’s ministry seminars, public speaking / preaching and teaching, written and video resources, one-on-one discipleship
  3. Church planting: Crece church

Where is Twist at the moment?

Twist Kids’ Clubs have fluxed over time. This depends greatly on the host-churches’ commitment and consistency. During the past nine years, there have been 20 start-ups nationwide. Some churches have initiated clubs based around the Twist model but are independent (now running virtually without contact), others are in connection (our team visits periodically), and others are start-ups directly through our team. Ten clubs are currently active, serving about 140 children weekly or bi-weekly, plus parents and volunteers.

This month, as Xau shared with parents at La Palma site (below), one mom expressed her gratitude to hear the Bible in a way she could understand - something new and surprising for her!  This is a delight. When we get to see spiritual ground being tilled up, especially for the first time, it reminds us why He's sent us.

Crece Church (Meaning, "Grow;" pronounced Kreh-seh)

How it all began: in 2022 we knew it was time to start a church. God had put it in our heart years prior. And we knew the area of the city to work in was Ecatepec - a zone stigmatized by crime, heavily influenced by Saint Death practices and chock-full of young people.

So, we began the hunt for a space. We landed in Tulpetlac, where Xau's father grew up. After two months of starting kids’ club (Xaume, Brayan, Pris and I), a few adults took interest in the Word of God, so we opened Sundays for an around-the-table Bible study.

Despite the many challenges and needs, we've witnessed breakthrough, confession, restorations, first-time decisions to follow Christ, lives recommitted to Him and continual discipleship and fellowship.

September marked Crece's four-year anniversary! Since the beginning, more than 200 people in the community have been impacted by the gospel through Crece/Twist.

Weekly, about 60 are being discipled through Sunday services, kids’ clubs, Bible studies and one-on-ones. We're in the process of raising leadership: delegating responsibilities and asking God to provide for and confirm a pastoral team.

Equipping:

This year we've provided training to 270 children's workers, ministered discipleship follow-up to over a thousand, and shared with more than two-hundred through outreach.  And, though it's taken longer than we wanted, we're working on the second Twist manual - with 60 percent of the lessons written.

All this to say, we're thankful. Anything good has been simply a testament to His glory, His mercy, His work.

Good friend Pastor Junny sharing on anniversary Sunday.
We're now very expectantly awaiting baby girl! (due-date mid to late November).  Please pray with us: God, may we continually fix our eyes on You.  Father, direct our steps.  Give us revelation by Your Spirit. Empower us to be obedient and faithful in every season. Thank you for sustaining us by Your POWERFUL WORD! Amen.

Thanks for reading, partnering and loving on us. We are blessed. Bless you!

A Man of Faith

“and we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬    Juan Jaime Bueno: January 21, 1948- January 24, 2026  Xaume’s dad parted suddenly for his home with the Lord. Though we had seen a steep decline in his health and mobility, we didn’t know it would come this quickly. We honor his life as a man of faith, who treasured the Word, intercession, spiritual warfare and worship. He loved to laugh and keep up with the news. A dear friend to Xau, a father who loved him “as his own,” we will miss his regaños (scolding )  and hugs .  He loved his grandkids, and was very proud of each of them. We were proud of them as they helped unload the Operation Christmas Child boxes this December. The Crece team facilitated three outreach events where kids and families received this free gift from the Father and heard about the greatest gift: a relationship with Him.  La Palma outreach Zumpango Christmas Child Outreach...

Every Step

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. - Isaiah 9:2 Praise God for His light that breaks through our darkness!  This month I wanted to highlight a few testimonies from the year, starting with two key encounters since we've been back this fall.  On two unrelated occasions, we were able to sit down with beloved church members to work through and minister deliverance in areas of bondage in their lives. Praise God for His Spirit who moves us to confession and repentance and works to restore us by the power of His Word.  Pray for more of these times - that we may all be delivered from evil - just as Jesus prayed.     Training seminar for children's workers at this church: Eliaquim. It was an edifying and powerful time as they were touched by Father's heart for young ones. Jocelyn (above) & Karla: two more testimonies.  Karla started volunteering in Twist in 2023, but after star...

To Him

For from Him and through Him and to HIM are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.  -Romans 11:36 July highlights: Women's breakfast at  La Palma : At this Twist start-up site, we are seeing many moms hungry for the gospel. Once-a-month, volunteers from Crece church will be coordinating a breakfast-Bible time for them to join their kiddos in drawing near (currently, Twist is happening here two Saturdays per month). This is the beginning of a church plant...  Interview date! We finally heard back: Xau's Visa-Greencard interview is on September 17th in Ciudad Juarez (border town). Praise God! Praying and planning for next steps - asking for HIS direction and provision in all things. Xau had great trips to Monterrey, Chiapas and San Luis Potosi to teach at youth camps, preach and teach children's ministry seminars. Liam went with him to San Luis :) In one town where they ministered, the couple has been pastoring for 27 years. They'd been praying for God to ...
